Despite efforts to encourage alternative transportation, in many places it is common for people to get around in single?occupancy vehicles, most of which currently run on conventional fossil fuels. While all single?occupancy vehicles have negative impacts, the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) can play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, EVs are not considered alternative transportation unless they have more than one occupant.
