The WELL AP exam and WELL AP credential are administered by the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), a third-party organization that provides independent oversight for professional credentialing and project certification, including programs related to the WELL Building Standard.

In partnership with IWBI, GBCI is managing the WELL AP exam redevelopment process in 2020-2021. GBCI is an ISO/IEC 17024 accredited organization and adheres to best practices in the development, delivery and maintenance of personnel certification programs like the WELL AP credential.
