There are three exam development stages, and our volunteer WELL APs are key to each stage.
- Conception: Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) brought together leading experts in the field to form the WELL AP v2 Exam Committee. This committee included WELL APs and industry specialists from across the globe in the public, private and nonprofit sectors and is responsible for summarizing reference materials into concise statements that lay the groundwork for building the exam and developing the Job Analysis Survey.
- Validation: GBCI enlists the help of a wider group of subject matter experts to review the statements developed by the committee and determine their relative importance through the Job Analysis Survey. The survey gives experts in the industry an opportunity to contribute to the credential. GBCI then gathers and analyzes results to create an exam blueprint, which outlines weight distribution for exam questions by content area.
- Development: Once the blueprint is finalized, GBCI enlists WELL APs who are subject matter experts to write and review questions that will appear on the exam. With expert consensus, a well-rounded exam is created and launched for the WELL AP credential. The exam is finalized and placed into the testing platform for aspiring candidates.
