Requirements
Track and document the total waste generated and waste diverted from landfill and incineration during the performance period. To implement specific waste reduction strategies beyond performance tracking to further reduce waste generation and improve diversion.

Requirements
Option 1. Organics Recycling (1 pt): Implement an organics recycling program for food waste and compostable materials. Provide collection infrastructure for food waste, landscape waste, and compostable serviceware. Partner with a composting facility or provide on-site composting capacity. Achieve at least 50% diversion of organics from landfill.
Option 2. Collection Management (1 pt): Provide clearly labeled, conveniently located waste collection infrastructure for recycling, composting, and landfill streams. Conduct regular waste audits (at least annually). Train building occupants on proper sorting procedures. Report waste diversion data to building management.
Option 3. Zero-Waste Audit (1 pt): Conduct a comprehensive zero-waste audit following the TRUE Zero Waste standard or equivalent. Identify all waste streams and implement strategies to eliminate waste at the source. Set a zero-waste goal of at least 90% diversion. Develop and implement a zero-waste action plan.
